WINGS PILOT SHOP

Basic Radio Communications
Audio Program

Many newcomers getting into the field of flying see the air traffic control system as a complex network speaking an unknown language. For that reason, Wings Pilot Shop has put together a program to demonstrate the actual simplicity of the system and how it works for you.
This program is presented as a simulated cross-country flight and it includes communications at uncontrolled airports, tower controlled airports, and with Boston Center, all of which will help you to understand what to say and how to say it throughout your days of talking on the radio.
This is not a training program. It is intended as a reference tool to help the novice aviator to understand the basics of the air traffic control system.
Runtime: 28 minutes
For your convenience, we have included a companion Resource Data CD that provides a printable follow-along program script, a portion of the NY sectional chart that includes the program's cross-country flight route, Chapter 4-Section 2 of the Airman's Information Manual, an ATIS Quick Copy sheet and a Quick Reference sheet.
